Handwoven Pashmina Shawl / Scarf / Stole - Paisley Jaal Kalamkari
Handmade in its strictest sense, this ultra fine pure wool shawl / stole, is handwoven and embroidered in the Kanihama village in Kashmir, giving the weave its name of 'Kani'. The fine thread embroidery is done after the weaving is completed. The fabric is made of ultra fine wool, lightweight and fine enough to pass through the gap between the thumb and the index finger.
The embroidery incorporates paisley and floral patterns, which is a prominent, motif amongst the arts in the sub-continent. The embroidery covers the length and the width of the garment, making it one of a kind masterpiece.
